The reason people collect anime characters is that they are just curious to suppose.
I don’t believe the cost is a major issue unless there is the ability to never get the amount you want, since those who purchase figures believe that it’s worthwhile. If you hand out the sum of $400 to 10 people and tell them that they’re able to use it for anything they like and they’ll pick different items since everyone is different. Some will argue buying an Playstation is better than purchasing a painting. It is possible to be more content with an eraser for $1 than a painting that costs $1000 (when it is used for personal purposes but not selling it obviously).
The price of figures is generally high, therefore you need to decide if you’d love them enough. I’m not convinced that you should be thinking about whether they’re worth the price because they’re just small statues. If you apply this logic to everything , nothing can seem to make sense. If you think about it, the $50 bill will just be paper when one thinks about it, and is worth nothing. However, that’s not the reality that it’s money! It’s worth something due to how society functions. Figures are valuable because they’re not just tiny objects These are things which people put their time and effort to create and also because they’re collectibles. The most important thing is the fact that they’re valuable because you personally love them and would like to own one!
I have three Link Nendoroids and the Jean Kirstein RAH, because I am a fan of these characters. I thought the characters were very nice. I had saved to pay for it. I considered it for an extended period of time. It’s true that I don’t use them like a five-year-old. I do not “use” them. They are just ornaments in the end. However, just because I only glance at them does not mean that they are an unwise purchase as I like how they look and do not feel guilty when I gaze at them. I’m only a little sad inside when I think of the reality that Jean’s 3DMG is broken.
Take a second to think about it. Do you have enough money or not? What else are you looking to invest your money in? What else should you invest money in? Do you still desire this particular item after having thought over it for couple of weeks? (Unless it’s pre-order or limited edition which is about to expire It’s best to consider it over time!)
After you’ve purchased your first Arknights figure, you’ll be able to determine that collecting figurines is something you enjoy. The purchase of a second figure will be much easier once you’ve done the first. But be careful that you don’t fall into the trap of buying more figures!
I believe that, in the event of a disaster, you don’t get any satisfaction when you open the box. You’re afraid that you’ll never see the figure again, and simply put it back into the box and then sell it on the internet for around the same amount you purchased it for (because the figure was removed from the box a few times but it’s in perfect condition). There’s a chance you’ll lose a few dollars at the end of the day, but in return, you get to look at the figure.
